GDK Research publishes unknown photographic documents on state-sponsored art of the Nazi era in order to place the critical examination of the art and cultural policies of the National Socialist regime on a broader, source-supported basis. The historical pictorial evidence is administered by the Photothek of the Zentralinstitut für Kunstgeschichte as part of the cultural heritage restituted by the United States in 1946. GDK Research completely acknowledges its responsibility in its careful handling of this difficult, partly problematic and in any case controversial material.
